Nathaniel Kellerer
Nathaniel joined CERN’s Knowledge Transfer Group in November 2025 as a Legal Advisor. He provides legal support on knowledge transfer activities, including the licensing of intellectual property, collaboration projects, and other forms of dissemination of CERN technologies.
Before joining CERN, Nathaniel worked as a patent litigator in the IP department of an international law firm in Munich, advising and representing clients in technology-related matters. His work included cross-border patent litigation before the German national courts and the Unified Patent Court.
Nathaniel is a dually qualified lawyer, admitted to practise law in Germany and New York. He obtained his law degree in Munich in 2019 and completed his Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Law & Technology at the University of California, Berkeley, in 2021. His legal clerkship at the Higher Regional Court of Munich included training placements in public institutions, an NGO, and an international law firm.
